CHAPTER 3 The Genealogy of David

1 And these were the sons of David, the ones being born to him in Hebron. The first-born was Amnon to Ahinoam the Jezreelitess. The second, Daniel, to Abigail the Carmelitess. 2 The third, Absalom, son of Maachah daughter of Talmai king of Geshur. The fourth, Adonijah son of Haggith. 3 The fifth, Shephatiah to Abital. The sixth, Ithream to Eglah his wife. 4 Six were born to him in Hebron, and he reigned there seven years and six months.
